Do you know your Japanese prefectures (県)?

February 7th, 2008 · 6 Comments

I just discovered this on the internet and I thought I’d share. It’s a really cool game for remembering where the are in Japan. Of course, you’ll need to be able to read the names first, and it can be a bit frustrating until you actually learn the locations of more of the 県 than 北海道 and 沖縄.

I’ll be putting this under a cut since it auto-plays music and I know you don’t want that messing up your LJ friends pages and whatnot.

This game was originally found here. You can also find a great similar game using the entire world map here. Credit for both of these games goes to their programmer and designer, 中島尚樹

Yay, I get about 12-14 correct (but still get a D due to guessing on the eastern/northern prefectures). Starting to learn the locations, but the blobbiness makes the places a bit hard to recognise, I think. XD

Oh man, this thing is great. I’ve always meant to study up more on my prefecture knowledge.
